Description:

BACOGA BCG® TDS sealing liquid agent is designed to eliminate extreme water loss in boilers, pipelines, and heating systems with leaks above 1000 liters per 24 hours. It is suitable for sealing leaks in all commonly used pipe materials, including plastics and metals. The product forms a mechanical seal upon crystallization when exposed to air, making it a durable and ageing-resistant solution. It is applicable in both closed and open systems and is introduced into the boiler using a filling pump (BCG G 20 or BCG G 21 J).

Patent No. 4321629.

Key Features:

  • Seals all common pipe materials (plastics and metals).
  • Forms a mechanical seal through crystallization in the presence of air.
  • Suitable for use in open systems.
  • Can cause clogging in congested areas (thermostatic valves, dirt traps).

Precautions:

  • The heating system must be free from additives such as frost protection, corrosion protection, and brine.
  • For systems with gas boilers or condensing units, use BCG 30 E sealant.
  • Proper use will not damage pumps and control valves.
  • Rinse the system thoroughly before use to remove deposits and impurities.
  • For new heating systems, measure water content manually if necessary.
  • After sealing, empty the system and refill to remove increased fiber content.
  • If aluminum is present in the heating system, empty and rinse the system after sealing within 4 weeks, then refill as usual.

Control Option:

  • Ensure the pH-value is between 10.5 and 11 for correct dosage.
  • The product is resistant to temperature and pressure and does not dissolve in other chemicals.
  • The pH-value must be checked annually.

BACOGA BCG TDS User Instructions:

Leaky Boiler:

  1. Disconnect the heating system from the boiler.
  2. Heat the boiler to operating temperature and set the maximum temperature.
  3. Shake the BCG TDS heating sealant bottle well.
  4. Pump the required amount into the boiler through the fill and drain valve.
  5. Fill the boiler until achieving a pressure of 1 bar.
  6. Purge the circulation pump thoroughly.
  7. Keep the boiler operational for 4 hours.
  8. After sealing, empty and flush the boiler thoroughly with water.
  9. Refill the boiler with clean water and purge the circulation pump again before resuming normal operation.

Heating System Leaking:

  1. Remove or bypass strainers, dirt traps, filters, and heat quantity meters.
  2. Fill the heating system with water and purge it.
  3. Set the boiler thermostat to maximum temperature and fully open all mixer and heater valves.
  4. Purge circulation pumps and keep them running.
  5. Reduce the heating water volume by the required amount for BCG TDS leaks sealer.
  6. Shake the BCG TDS heating leaks sealant canister well.
  7. Introduce the required quantity using the boiler fill and drain valve.
  8. Fill the system to operating pressure and purge the circulation pumps again.
  9. Keep the system operational for 7 hours without reducing circulation or temperature.
  10. The sealing process will take 1 or more days.
  11. After sealing, empty the system, rinse, and refill to remove increased fiber content using a dirt trap.
  12. BCG TDS heating pipes sealant can remain in the system, maintaining a pH value between 10.5 and 11.0.
  13. Check the pH value annually.

For District Heating Systems:

  1. Identify the part of the in-house system with the leak.
  2. Establish a closed circulation over the part with the leak and add BCG TDS in the correct concentration.
  3. Shake the container well before mixing into the system water.
  4. Maintain heating and circulation over the circuit with the leak for 2–3 days until the leak is sealed.
  5. After sealing, rinse the heating circuit thoroughly with several changes of water.
  6. Refill the circuit with water and reconnect to the district heating system.
  7. Rinse the external circulation pump and other equipment thoroughly with several changes of water.

Safety and Handling:

  • Remove BCG TDS liquid sealant immediately from objects like tiles and sinks with water to prevent crystallization.
  • Follow usual precautions when handling chemicals.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Disposal:

  • Refer to the safety data sheet for disposal instructions.

Mixing Ratio:

  • 1.5 liters of BCG TDS to 100 liters of heating water.
  • Ensure the pH-value is between 10.5 and 11.0.

Storage:

  • Suitable for storage for 5 years from the date of manufacture.
  • Protect from frost.
