Description:
BCG® Spezial eliminates water loss in heating systems, boilers, pipelines, radiators, and under-floor heating systems up to 400 liters per 24 hours (Patent No. 4321629). It seals leaks in all commercial materials (plastics and metals) by crystallizing in the presence of air, forming a mechanical, durable, and ageing-resistant seal. It can also be used in open systems and is introduced using a filling pump (BCG G 20 or BCG G 21J).
Note:
- The heating system must be free from additives like frost protection, corrosion protection, and brine.
- Use BCG 30 E if a gas boiler or condensing unit is connected.
- Proper use will not damage pumps and control valves.
- Rinse the system thoroughly before use to remove deposits and impurities.
- New heating systems have low water content; measure if necessary.
- The pH value should be between 10.5 and 11.
- If aluminum is present in the system, empty and rinse the system after sealing within 4 weeks, then refill as usual.
Bacoga BCG Spezial User Instructions:
For a Leaky Boiler:
- Disconnect the heating system from the boiler.
- Heat the boiler to operating temperature and set the maximum temperature.
- Shake the BCG Spezial water loss sealant bottle well.
- Pump the required amount into the boiler through the fill and drain valve.
- Fill the boiler until reaching a pressure of 1 bar.
- Purge the circulation pump thoroughly.
- Keep the boiler operational for 4 hours.
- After sealing, empty and flush the boiler thoroughly with water.
- Refill the boiler with clean water and purge the circulation pump again before returning to normal operation.
For a Leaking Heating System:
- Fill the heating system with water and purge it.
- Set the boiler thermostat to maximum temperature and fully open all mixer and heater valves.
- Purge circulation pumps and keep them running.
- Reduce the heating water volume by the required amount for BCG Spezial heating leaks sealant.
- Shake the BCG Spezial heating sealant canister well.
- Introduce the required quantity using the boiler fill and drain valve.
- Fill the system to operating pressure and purge the circulation pumps again.
- Keep the system operational for 7 hours without reducing circulation or temperature.
- The sealing process will take 1 or more days. BCG Spezial heating and cooling sealant can remain in the system, maintaining a pH value between 10.5 and 11.0.
- Check the pH value annually.
- Optionally, empty the system after approximately 4 weeks, especially if there are aluminum parts. Rinse thoroughly and refill to normal operating pressure, purging the circulation pump again.
For District Heating Systems:
- Identify the part of the in-house system with the leak.
- Establish a closed circulation over the part with the leak and add BCG Spezial leak sealer in the correct concentration.
- Shake the container well before mixing into the system water.
- Maintain heating and circulation over the circuit with the leak for 2-3 days until the leak is sealed.
- After sealing, rinse the heating circuit thoroughly with several changes of water.
- Refill the circuit with water and reconnect to the district heating system.
- Rinse the external circulation pump and other equipment thoroughly.
Important Information:
- Remove BCG Spezial immediately from objects like tiles and sinks with water to prevent crystallization.
- Follow usual precautions when handling chemicals.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- For disposal, see the safety data sheet.
Mixing Ratio:
- 1.5 liters of BCG Spezial to 100 liters of heating water.
- Proper dosage will result in a pH value between 10.5 and 11.0.
- The product is resistant to temperature and pressure and does not dissolve in other chemicals.
Suitability for Storage:
- Suitable for storage for 5 years from the date of manufacture.
- Protect from frost.
