Description:
BACOGA BCG® 84 S liquid sealant eliminates water loss in drinking and domestic water pipes up to 400 litres per 24 hours. It can seal pitting, cracks, and leaks in copper, stainless steel, plastic, and galvanized pipes. BCG 84 S crystallizes upon contact with air, forming a mechanical seal over the leak. The seal is durable and resistant to aging. (Patent No. 4342861).
Important Information:
-
BCG 84, BCG 84 S, and BCG 84 L sealants are suitable for use in areas involving food and drinking water.
-
Immediately remove BCG 84 S from objects (e.g., tiles, sinks) with water to prevent crystallization, which cannot be removed once formed.
Attention:
-
The sealant is not soluble in other chemicals.
-
It is temperature and pressure-resistant.
BACOGA BCG 84 S LIQUID SEALANT USER INSTRUCTIONS:
-
Preparation:
-
Disconnect and drain the leaking drinking water pipe.
-
Collect and measure the contents to determine the amount of BCG 84 S sealer needed.
-
Close valves and fittings, and remove them if necessary. Install shut-off valves if required (DIN 1988).
-
Remove aerators, sieves, filters, and water meters, and install fitting pieces.
-
-
Application:
-
Blow out the leaking pipe with compressed air. Ensure air emerges at the leakage point to blow the leak point water-free.
-
Shake the BCG 84 S canister well.
-
Dilute BCG 84 S 1:1 with water and fill it into the drinking water pipe using a discharge pump (without suction strainer) or a pressure tank (BCG G 21J).
-
Purge the drinking water pipe thoroughly.
-
-
Pressurizing and Sealing:
-
Pressurize the drinking water pipe to 5-7 bar.
-
Ensure the sealing agent exits at the leakage point to crystallize outside the pipe.
-
Allow a contact time of at least 2 days (48 hours). In very wet conditions, extend the exposure time to 4-5 days.
-
Note: Sealing may be limited in plastic-sheathed tubes as air cannot reach the leakage point.
-
-
Post-Sealing:
-
Blow out the BCG 84 S leak sealant after sealing.
-
Thoroughly rinse the drinking water pipe with pure water.
-
Reconnect the drinking water pipe to the drinking water system.
-
Shut off the warm water boiler before sealing.
-
Flush all tools thoroughly after use.
-
Additional Information:
-
The product can be reused.
-
Domestic water storage tanks can be sealed if air reaches the leak point from the outside (mixing ratio 1:100). We recommend cleaning the domestic water tank before sealing.
-
Observe the usual precautions when handling chemicals.
-
Keep out of the reach of children.
-
Disposal: see safety data sheet.
-
Mixing ratio: Pure or mixed 1:1 with water.
